our snowy house

As I write this all the snow is gone...but just last week this is what it looked like at at our house.

Drew was making snow angels...

christmas acivities

I know I haven't posted in awhile, so here are some random pictures...not neccessarily in order...and then I will be all caught up for the new year. The last couple of weeks have been a little off with all the snowfall and we should resume regular activities in the new year.
Anna at her favorite spot lately...the snow (flour)....I have a thin layer of white residue on everything throughout my house!

tree trimming activity. I just set the different materials out and they choose which they want to use. Some wanted to paint the tree green first, some second, and some not at all. They loved the real christmas lights they could glue.

trees at the easle....

tree

Here they had to trace the tree and then add glitter.

glass/lid project and flour

This project included green beach glass, juice lids, and glue....lot's of glue. My intent was to put together some magnets...I might still do that...but their intent was to see how tall they could make their sculpture before it would fall. It was hard because the glue would make the glass slide down...I kinda liked their project idea better. It was much more interesting....and cool science.
Quincy is soooo dang cute.

He loves the flour.....

Magic wish bottles...

These are so easy....and the kids LOVE them. I just set out random things...the shinier the better...and they put them in and we fill it up with water. I make it hot. We rolled up tin foil and made little balls to add. They also can pick a color if they want to add to the water.

Happy Birthday Olivia!

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Olivia,
Happy Birthday to you!!

I put out some material scraps and glitter paint....ooohhhh...pretty.

Field trip to see the Reindeer!

Posted by Picasa
Here is Prancer....
Did you know that all of Santa's reindeer are girls? The walk up to see santa....

Dacia bought us Apple treats to give to the Reindeer....

I think Quincy ate most of his apples.....

Then we went to write Santa a letter....Quincy was a bit of a Rebel, but he liked the mailbox part.

Olivia wants a truck like her Daddys...but not a big huge one on the street, just a big one for inside.
Connor wants a treadmil..?...and Jence...a Lightening McQueen Camera!

We saw a cougar, a couple tigers, some 'mean' Emu, a wallaby, some lemurs, and a few other pretty cool animals.

We took a sleigh ride...weeeeeee.....
We rode on some pretty cool statues....And this bear tried to eat us.....you can tell they were getting a little tired....Time to go.....

What are you thankful for?

We cut apples, onions, and celery...added to butter, and mmmmm...

These are our "turkeys"....First we rinsed them and got the 'guts' out...then we stuffed, seasoned, and basted them...then we cut. Yes....for those who see they are upside down....we did that to see if the breast meat would be 'oh so yummier', and it was.
Yeah....it's done!

What are you thankful for? We started with...
Bryan: Bryan :)....
Olivia: My Fishtank, Turkey, Anna, you, Jence, (and she started naming everything she could see.
Jence: Olivia, Quincy, Anna, Bryan, lightening McQueen car, lightening McQueen camera, Lightening McQueen computer,
Quincy and Anna just smile...
Annie: That I have the best job in the world, and I get to see all my favorite kids everyday!
Seriously....I am not just saying that! :)
We only had 5 today...Connor went skiing (hopefully you found snow!) It was a nice little pre- Thanksgiving meal.

Serving up the chow.....Quincy's favorite is the cranberry sauce. He wanted more but I told him he had to eat some turkey and potatos. She cracks me up all the time you know....A very posed picture...too bad her pinky finger isn't sticking up...it almost is...That look from her is just priceless....I cannot stop laughing...
