deck...getting started

Posted by Picasa

Random Photos....

Here is my newest little boy....isn't he cute?? He holds plants and watches boots!
Little inventors....They taped up blankets all on their own.... Hey Kell!

Ww is for Wind....we blew around liquid watercolor with straws....

I Spy something red....

This is what your children see while eating lunch and snack. We often play I Spy. Some of these are antique toys I have collected...some are gifts...some are my boys first toys...and up at the top right is my address sign from the place I grew up.
I had one of those Chrissy dolls when I was little. Her hair gets long and short. Anybody remember her??

The origianl power rangers....an aunt got them all for Dylan, and a coffee can full of buttons that my grama had.
Of course the boys are most interested in the Power Ranger figures...and they often wonder why we cannot play with the toys...I just tell them because it is my I Spy wall.

A New Deck...

We are moving bricks to make way for our new deck. Yup...a new deck. It is the very last piece of our (seemingly) never ending remodel. The deck will come out 10 feet and be covered. So...guess what??? You will never have to take your shoes off again! except to actually come inside. I will have the sign in sheet out on the deck and we will put our shoes and coats out there as well. Yipeeee. Hopefully it will only take a week...(cross my fingers) so meanwhile we will be switching back and forth the door to enter. Sorry about that but the end result will be GREAT!The reason the bricks are being moved is so I can use them to make a bike path in front of the deck. Your children were a great help!!

If all the raindrops were lemon drops and gumdrops..oh what a rain that would be!

When we went outside today it looked like this...nice...not too cold...and the bubbles even came out. But in the distance dark clouds loomed....Then it hit...and they went a runnin!....but not a hide'n....I know it's wet and it is messy...but your (and all )children love to run around in the rain. And they LOVE to splash in puddles. Which is the very reason we are supposed to wear boots to daycare...I just can't squash their little hearts and keep them out of these very cool mud puddles. :) Oh...the pure joy of splashing....You should try it...I am very serious....I splash in puddles all the time (well when there are puddles) and it is very invigorating...try it...with your kids...they will fall in love with you!
"My hair is wet!" Yup...sure is........hey quinn....

We did a little work to the inside climber....these two seem to like it!
Mmmmm says Quinn....

Open-shut them
Open-shut them
Give a little clap, clap, clap
Open-shut them
Open-shut them
Put them in your lap, lap, lap
Creep them Creep them,
Creep them Creep them,
Right up to your chin, chin , chin
Open up your little mouth...
Do not let them in!

St. Patricks Day....

I added Letter and number Gold Coins to the rainbow rice and a couple magnet wands so they could fish the coins out.We made silly shamrock wands using this very cool rubbery clay that dries over night.
Hammering rainbow colored golf tee's into potatos. They really loved this...although Olivia really wanted to 'peel' her tomato...potato.I spray painted rocks so that we could have gold! We put some of the gold at the playdough table with green playdough and shamrock cookie cutters.

Muffin Tin Mondays...on Friday

I found this strangely fun idea here...http://michellesjournalcorner.blogspot.com/search/label/Muffin%20Tin%20Monday
and decided to try it. Since this is the end of our rainbow theme, we did rainbow food and did it on Friday. I will start doing it on Mondays...next week green food...and will post it for you. The kids LOVED it!! Who knew a simple little different way of eating lunch would spark so much enthusiasm....I suppose I should have known by the way I acted when I first saw it. Anyway...This is what we had...starting with the bottom of the rainbow: Purple...blueberries (I know, connor gave me words on this, but they are purple) and nectarines....blue...sorry it's the only blue food I could find, jellybeans. ...green...cucumber and green yummy stuff (because if I said peppers they wouldn't eat it)...yellow...pears and string cheese )had to add some protien)...orange...fishies and carrots...red...cherry tomatos and strawberries.
So out of all that, guess what they all ate first?? except Jence, he saved his for last!
Oh, they got juice also...we usually have milk, but since it was a rainbow lunch I decided to go all out. :) Here they are singing 'open shut them' which is our lunch song.

R is for Rainbow

R is for Rainbow. Not everyone used all the colors....Jackson insisted on only using green...his favorite color.

I love how intense she gets!..
