This is inside the playhouse. They can climb in and out the window...pretty cool! The girls have climbed up for a good seat to watch the 'show'. They also decorate this space themselves. Addy and her gremlin grin...
Precious....The new bike trail is sooooo fun, and round...and round...and round....Connor is giving his new snorting laugh....
This is Dylans friend Miles. He usually doesn't come around during daycare hours but has been here a few times this week. He LOVES your kids. He has come up to me several times saying, "This is so cool...these kids are so great!" It drives Dylan crazy because Miles wants to stay and play. :)
The new brick road is super fun and fast! and did I mention round? and around.....Here are these two best buds. Everyone is sitting at the table for snack and I am looking around for Bryan and Anna. Oh, there they are having a great 3 year old conversation. Luckily my camera was near...these two are so cute together!!Snack time on our very lopsided picnic table. The water would not stay in their cups! I will fix it this weekend...maybe.and around, and around, and around........ Clair brought popsicles....Yummy! Thank you!
This is his sister Dottie....They are so great. They are 8 months and they hop around the yard. They don't leave! On Sunday when I was working in the yard Frodo just hopped back and forth around me. They are so sweet! I am hoping that after time they won't be afraid of the kids and they will come right up to us.
When we went outside today it looked like this...nice...not too cold...and the bubbles even came out. But in the distance dark clouds loomed....Then it hit...and they went a runnin!....but not a hide'n....I know it's wet and it is messy...but your (and all )children love to run around in the rain. And they LOVE to splash in puddles. Which is the very reason we are supposed to wear boots to daycare...I just can't squash their little hearts and keep them out of these very cool mud puddles. :)Oh...the pure joy of splashing....You should try it...I am very serious....I splash in puddles all the time (well when there are puddles) and it is very invigorating...try it...with your kids...they will fall in love with you!
"My hair is wet!" Yup...sure is........hey quinn....
water is wet....and it makes you wet....and can be a pain sometimes. But....water is the most facinating object to children. These 2 were at the water table all week last week for the majority of the time we were outside. Here are some things your children are learning while playing with water. Scooping, pouring, measuring, small motor, scocialization, sensory exploration, observation, gravity, float vs sink, and more.....along with the fact that when it is really hot outside you can keep cool by dumping the water on you.... and when it is cold outside...well, you really don't want to get too wet because then it doesn't feel so great. They LOVE to dump out water. I try to get them to dump it in plants or on the grass....but watching the water hit and splash on the cement is just too cool. Quincy poured about 432 cup fulls of water on the sidewalk. These are Olivias rock. She is cleaning them in the container full of water. she mixed them around. they came out all sparkely. She filled and unfilled and filled and unfilled this bag of sand. SO cute!
Olivia is working hard on fixing a meal for her family. Look at all the bowls...she has a big family. She is trying to get all the bowls even (good math skill)...so its fair. At one point she starts to divide the pasta shapes by color....some get red, some blue, some yellow. These two were cracking me up! They were playing hide and seek and ring around the tree. As if you couldn't see them hiding behind that little tree. Just look at those cute little faces.....they think I am a little cooky with my camera....awwww....where did Bryan go? Oh...the water.
These are definitly open ended play things. My favorite. Dacia brought these over for us to play with (thank you Dacia) and the kids love them. They are used like hamster balls to walk around in. Or how many kids can we pile in....and can we still walk around with this many?? Or quiet places to talk or read. Or to put onto the tricycles and ride around...notice they used the boxes also. She brought us 6 or 7...they made a hotel today. Everyone had their own room. These are pretty neat...Thank you for adding to our outside fun!
I loved doing this as a kid. In PE each year we would get to use the parachute for a day or two. Recently, the Head Start program near us was 'thinning out' their inventory....and we got to help them. Among the many wonderful things was this HUGE parachute. I wasn't sure it would even fit in our back yard, but it does. My kids love it too, so they help with the parachute dance. Sometimes we put balls on top to shake around, but the funnest is to pull it over our heads and run around underneath.
