one thousand dollar bedroom

If you want to know what is going on in a child's world, give them some paper and a pencil. I already knew that Loralei's family is building a house. This is very exciting for her and a huge part of what is going on in her life. Here she is telling us about the 'plans' as she is drawing them out. Hayden also wants to join in with the excitement so she is creating her own. I love how they stop and listen to each other. They are trying to get me involved, but I am trying to just listen to the stories they have for each other and how they react. I am in love with how they talk stuff out with each other and are genuinely excited and interested in each other....well, sort of. They at least pretend to listen so they can have their turn to share :))

Buds

These two are so cute together! The thing that made me laugh..... Was that at 4.5 months old, the girl is already talking the boys ears off.... Who looks a little stunned!!

Beads

We brought out beads. Our fake wood floor makes a perfect surface for making bead waves, designs, and NOISE!! Sounds a little like a big rain storm in here. Fun fun!!!

We had turkey sloppy Jo's, blueberries, banana, & orange salad, and cucumber...... Jake ate every piece of his sloppy Jo, except the meat! He ate the bun on one side, then flipped it over to eat the other side of the bun. Clever boy!!!

Hahaha.... I put the sand drawer in the closet!! We were running out of room (adding the light table) so cleared out the closet!! HA!! They like the little hidden sand drawer. Shhhh......

'lacing'

We got this nifty little lacing set from the creation station at conference. The kids are digging it!! "The tubing provides a medium that very young children can manipulate successfully. Great eye-hand coordination and small motor control" :) www.creationstationinc.com

Bunk bed

Sooo....here is our new bunk bed...aka... The fridge. The girls are proud! They can squeeze all the babies together!

Light table!!

This weekend, at the ooey gooey conference, there was a silent auction. And in that silent auction was a light table. I gave mine to the blueberry school.... So, of course I HAD to have a new one!! Kathy Millers husband made this and donated it to the auction. Thank you for donating it!!!! I love it!! And most important, the kids love it!!! And..... It's really, really, cool looking!!!

Eggs.....

"I'm making eggs!!" what? Your making eggs in the kitchen? "yes! I'm making eggs!!"
This is jake, who pretty much hasn't moved far from either the car bin or the library since he first got here 6 months (?) ago.... He was 'working' all over that kitchen making eggs!! And.... No cars in hand.

Zabiba (sorry... I'm sure I spelled that wrong!) is taking classes at Bellevue college and she picked us to do her practicum hours. She is here on Thursday mornings. Each week she does a fun project with the kids! We love her!!

Crafting outside!

Love nice weather!! I brought out glue, paper, crayons, and scissors...I told them they could find things around the yard to glue. Yay!!

Climber at blueberry

And, hey!!! I have some of those....!!! Doesn't everyone have old drawers laying around?? Anyway... I had sand too... And these other items to add... And.... Of course, they loved it!!

Chalkboard ABC's

I saw this idea on pinterest..... I wrote the alphabet and quincy painted (with water) over it. He loved it!! We will be doing more of this!

cans.....

 I went through my cupboard. I am embarrassed to say all these cans are outdated. I found one from 2009. Ooops. I was putting them in this box to toss....then thought it would be fun to see what the kids would do with them. Sooo....I put the box in the block area. So far they have been here for almost an hour!! They make a very cool 'crash' sound when they fall!!
