Egg Cracking

It is that time of year again for the cracking of the eggs. I started this activity to teach my boys about eggs...and how to crack them. The children have so much fun cracking. Kids always want to crack the egg while baking....and I don't always want them to....so this is an activity where they can crack away! It is a good learning experience for them. How hard/soft to hit the egg, how does it feel, what is the yellow part, why is the shell so pokey, etc...This way, they learn the egg, inside and out. And don't worry, we follow strict 'no putting hands in mouth' and handwashing procedures. Ask your children to tell you all about it.

I'm not much of a blogger....yet...but somehow I ran across your blog and I must say, I thoroughly enjoy it. You have inspired me to start my own. I have four kiddos that come to my home for three hours one day every week. I am always looking for new ideas and I love what you do. I am a substitute teacher in our school district but wanted to try my own in home "preschool" if you will. I don't have a lot of space but we work with what we have. Your home/classroom is wonderful....so fun and inviting. These families are so lucky to have you!
