Sand and Spray Bottles...flower week

We started out all nice and tidy....
Glue first, then add the colored sand, and put excess back into jar....They moved on to transfering and mixing the colored sand....After they were done mixing all the colors they wanted to add water...mix it all up...and make a big mess! That's okay...it's all about the process.....We had 6 different colors to spray...I didn't make the color strong enough, but they still enjoyed the project. The bottles are pretty difficult to spray with just your finger, so they had to come up with different ways to figure it out. Jence used all the colors :) ....right now he is counting them. Which started a 'I have more than you' contest between him and Olivia. Great counting!! and more or less observations! The first couple of times she squirted herself.... she is looking at the bottle here to see what is up....She figured it out!

Flowers/Mothers Day week.......Flower smashing

Here is a flower print we made by hammering flowers and leaves.First pick the flowers you would like. We had purple and red flowers and some green leaves.Lay the flowers down on a peice of paper, then place the fabric on top, then hammer away! A fun little project...."Flowers are juicy, colorful, different colors, pretty, smashing, slimey, sticky and hammery"

Around the room...circus...

The light table has the color builders. Kelly is choosing to stack them up rather then connecting them. The colors change when the light comes through multiple pieces. Connor is building a big kankalizer? The bad guys on narnia have them. ??

Painting tiles with red and yellow.

"Hey guys...hey guys....look! Red and yellow mixed up make orange!"
Yes!!! Learning through thoughtful play....the thoughtful part...setting out yellow and red to mix.

The water table has balls, boats, and a medical baister (? what is that called?)....and orange water.

H is for Hats....

Big H, little h, what begins with Hh?
Our writing table...Hat graphing....these little hats were made out of 'lost' socks. Just kidding...I know what you are thinking. (If you are missing socks check cubbies and project drawers or the bottom left hand drawer) I cut them in half...tied the tops or put on pom poms and presto...mini hats.
which category has more? Less? the same?Newspaper Hats....My Hat it has 3 corners, 3 corners has my Hat. And had it not 3 corners, it would not be my Hat!
I typed this up and they had to find and circle the big H and the little h and then we taped it to our hats.
